What fascinated me most was the sight of fish, prawns, and crabs swimming or moving about in tanks outside the seafood establishments.
These were not aquariums meant only for decoration. They were, in a sense, a living menu. You could look at the available seafood, select what you wanted, and have it cooked and served.
I found the whole arrangement wonderfully engaging. Choosing dinner became an experience in itself rather than simply pointing to a name on a printed menu. We spent time looking at the tanks, watching their occupants, and deciding what we would enjoy eating.
For someone who loves fish and prawns, this was a particularly memorable part of the visit.
