Three most important information one must know before starting an online promotion

Promotion is an art.If you want to promote something you need to know three vital information :


  • what is your customer group ?
  • how to synchronise your product with your customer's needs ?
  • how can you make them loyal ?


Say you are promoting a safelist.Safelist are like mail exchange system where you can send emails if you accept to receive similar emails from other users.This way you can promote your product to other members of the safelist.It is a very old internet marketing concept where people can generate a hype about their product without doing expensive advertising campaigns..

Safelist can be used by four types of people : affiliates and small business owners.Sometimes event management groups and social workers also use safelists to generate buzz for their campaigns.

Each group of people described above has a common need : they want to promote their service/campaigns to other people so that people know about their product/services/cause etc.

For small business owners the need will be to promote their product/services
For affiliates the need will be to promote the products they are marketing for commission
For event management groups the need is to generate an awareness about a forthcoming event
For social workers the need is to gain supporters for their cause

If a sefelist owner want to promote his service to the above customer groups :


  • - he must highlight the existing memberbase
  • - he must show the frequency of promotion allowed
  • - he must show the technological advances(like ease of use,interaction capability..)
  • - he must identify the uniqueness and stability of the service


When he shows the above to the customer groups he is actually addressing their needs which can grow their interest or excitement about the product.

You must answer each question of your customer how stupid be it with politeness and in a straight forward way.Do not hide anything,be transparent.You must be consistent in your service.Do not change.Try to improve but not remove anything that you had promised.When you do the above you generate loyalty from your customers which in turn can generate the desired brand value of the service.

Once you know all the three information discussed above you can start a promotion which have a greater chance of success.
